Reunion
The desire for returning home and reconnecting with their love and need for family often begins during the initial phase of the program when the student is separated from their family and comforts of home. The concept of family is reinforced throughout the program as students learn about cooperation, communication, and relationships in their treatment group.
At the completion of the 7 week program, students are eager to renew relationships in the family. They are lined up at trails end with the parents waiting a mile down the road. Students excitedly run down a mile trail into the open arms of waiting family. This dramatic reunion typically brings tears, hugs and kisses to all even the most defiant teenagers.
